Step-by-step explanation:

Area Of triangle = 1/2 x base x height

=(1/2)(6)(8)

=24 cm²

area of trapezium = 1/2 x sum of parallel side x height

=(1/2)(6+12)(5)

45cm²

area of polygon =69cm²

To find :

• Area of the following polygon =?

Solution :

As we can see in the diagram that area of triangle and area of trapezium form.

So we can say,

➡ Area of polygon =Area of trapezium + Area of triangle.

  \\ \implies \sf \: \: area \: of \: polygon = area \: of \: trapezium \:  + area \: of \: triangle \\  \\  \implies \sf \: area \: of \: polygon =  \frac{1}{2}  \times (12 + 6)(13 - 8) +  \frac{1}{2}  \times 6 \times 8 \\  \\  \implies \sf \: area \: of \: polygon =  \frac{1}{2} \times 18 \times 5 + 3 \times 8 \\  \\  \implies \sf \: area \: of \: polygon = 45 + 24 \\  \\  \implies \boxed{ \sf{area \: of \: polygon = 69 {m}^{2}  }}

➡ Area of polygon is 69m²

Additional information :

\pink\bigstar\sf{Area \: of \: triangle =\dfrac{1}{2} \times base \times height}

\\ \pink\bigstar\sf{Area \: of \: trapezium =\dfrac{1}{2} \times (sum \: of \: parallel \: side) \times(height)}
