According to the figure I have named the vertices and constructed in that. Draw a line EG||BC, such that AGEF and GDCB are 2 rectangles. GD = BC = 8 cm and GB = DC = 12 cm

Area of the figure = Area of rectangle AGEF + Area of rectangle GDCB

Area of rectangle AGEF = l x b = 5 x 3 = 15 cm²

Area of rectangle GDCB = l x b = 12 x 8 = 96 cm²
