Step-by-step explanation:
- Split the polygon into 3 triangles (i.e.), ΔADC, ΔABC, ΔAGB.
- Find the area of all the three triangles with the area of traingle formulae. Area of triangle = 1/2 * base * height.
- To find the base AB of the ΔAGB, use pythagorous theorem on ΔABC. As shown in Fig 2.
- Then add the areas of the all the 3 triangles.
- The sum gives the area of the polygon AGBCD.
