Area of quadilateral ADCB = Area of ΔADB + ΔDCB

Area of ΔADB

= 1/2 x b x h (b = base , h = height)

= 1/2 x 14 x 5 (AB = BASE , DE = HEIGHT)

= 1/2 x 70

= 35cm

Area of ΔDCB

= 1/2 x b x h

= 1/2 x 12 x 4  (BD = BASE , CF = HEIGHT)

= 1/2 x 48

= 24cm

As we've mentioned earlier, area of the quadlateral = Area of ΔADB + ΔDCB.

= 35 + 24

= 59cm²
