The sector is a fraction of a circle

Here the fraction is 42/360

No need to worry about reducing the fraction, use your calculator

The area of a circle is pi×r^2

= pi×12×12

Multiply your answer by42/360

=52.779cm^2

53cm^2 to nearest cm

If you take pi=22/7 then you get

(22×12×12×42)÷(360×7)

22×12×12×6 ÷360

22×12×12 ÷60

22×12 ÷5

264÷5

52.8cm^2

I hope this helps you
