Area of rectangle = length x breadth

Area of square = (side)2

So, Area of shaded part = Area of 1 + Area of 2 - Area of 3

= [ (50 x 2) + (40 x 2) - (2 x 2) ] cm2

= [ 100 + 80 - 4 ] cm2

= (180 - 4) cm2 = 176 cm2

Hence, the Area of shaded part is 176 cm2.
