We can notice that there are 4 Quarter Circles of Radius 7cm inside the Square. The Idea is to : First, find the Area of the Square and then find the Area of 4 Quarter Circles and then Subtract the Area of 4 Quarter Circles from the Area of the Square. So, We may end up with the Area of Shaded region.

First, Let us find the Area of Square :

We know that : Area of Square is given by : Side × Side

Given : Side of the Square = 14 cm

⇒ Area of the Square = 14 × 14 = 196 cm²

We know that Area of One Circle is given by : πr²

⇒ Area of Quarter Circle :  \frac{\pi r^2}{4}

We can notice that Radius of Quarter of Circle is :  \frac{14}{2} = 7\;cm

⇒ Area of One Quarter of Circle : \frac{\pi \times 7^2}{4}

⇒ Area of 4 Quarter Circle's : 4 \times \frac{\pi \times 7^2}{4} = 49\pi = 153.93\;cm^2

Area of Shaded Region = Area of Square - Area of 4 Quarter Circle's

⇒ Area of Shaded Region = (196 - 153.93) = 42.06 cm²
