Area of the bigger rectangle = l × b

= 26×12

= 312cm square

Area of smaller rectangle = l×b

= [26-(3+3+2+2)]×[12-(4+4)]

= (26-10)×(12-8)

= 16×4

= 64 cm square

Area of the two semi circles=

= 2×1/2πr square

= πr square

= 22/7×2 square

= 22/7×4

= 88/7

= 12.57 cm square

Area of shaded region=

= Area of bigger rectangle-( area of smaller rectangle + area of two semicircles)

= 312 - (64+12.57)

= 312 - 76.57

= 235.43 cm square
