area of shade region

196 - 153.86 = 42.14

so, Area of the square = S^2 = 14^2=196 cm^2

Area of the circle = πr^2

= 22/7×7×7

= 154 cm^2

so, area of shaded portion = (196 - 154) = 42 cm^2
