let us get the area for the square

A = a²

= 28 × 28

= 784

given that point P is centre point of the square all triangles must be equal. therefore

A(triangle) = A(square)/ 4

= 784 / 4

= 196

let us disard the bottom triangle APD and find the area of pentagon ABCDP which is made of 3 triangles

= 3 × A(triangle)

= 3 × 196

= 588

now to find area of semi circle,

A(semi circle) = 3.14 × r

since r = half of side of square

r = 28/2

=14

therefore A(semi circle) = 3.14 × r

= 3.14 × 14

=43.96

now for the last part

A(shaded part) = A(pentagon) — A(semi circle)

= 588 = 43.96

= 544.04
