TO FIND:

  • AREA OF SHADED PART

ANSWER:

IN TRAINGLE ADB,

 \\ \\ \\ \\ {AB }^{2} = { BD }^{2} + {AD}^{2} \\ \\ \\ \\ AB = \sqrt{( {16)}^{2} + ({12)}^{2} } \\ \\ \\ \\ AB = \sqrt{400} \\ \\ \\ = 20cm \\ \\ \\ \\

AREA OF TRIANGLE ABC ,

 \\ \\ \\ \\ \frac{1}{2} \times b \times h \\ \\ \\ \\ \frac{1}{2} \times 12 \times 6 = 96 {cm}^{2} \\ \\ \\ \\

AREA OF TRIANGLE ADB ,

 \\ \\ \\ \\ \\ \frac{1}{2} \times b \times h \\ \\ \\ \\ = \frac{1}{2} \times 48 \times 20 \\ \\ \\ \\ = 480 {cm}^{2} \\ \\ \\ \\ \\

AREA OF SHADED PART,

 \\ \\ \\ \\ \\ = (480 - 96) {cm}^{2} \\ \\ \\ \\ = 384 {cm}^{2} \\ \\ \\ \\ \\
