l=5m
b=3m
h=4m
total surface area = 2(lb+bh+hl)
". =2(5×3+3×4+4×5)
". =2(15+12+20)
". =2×47=>94m^2
total surface area=94m^2
therefore the area of thin sheet required for making an open cistern is 94 meter square
I hope it helps

Answer : 79 m²
Solution :
_________
Given that :
Length = 5 m
Breadth = 3 m
Height = 4 m
As we know that : Total Surface Area of Cuboid
= 2(lh+hb+lb)
=> 2(5×4+3×4+5×3)
=> 2(20+12+15)
=> 2×47
=> 94 m²
Also given that : Cistern is open
Then, Area = Total Surface Area – Area of upper part
=> Area = Total Surface Area–l×b
=> Area = 94–(5×3) = 94–15
=> Area = 79 m²
So, the area will be sheeting will be 79 m²
