Answer:

Area of triangle with mid points :

1/2||(x1-x2)(y1-y3) - (x1-x3)(y1-y2)||

A(1,4) :- x1 = 1 , y1= 4

B(2,-1):- x2 = 2 , y2= -1

C(0,-1):- x3 = 0, y3=-1

= 1/2||(1-2)(4-(-1)) - (1-0)(4-(-1))||

= 1/2||(-1)(5) - (1)(5)||

= 1/2||(-5) - 5||

= 1/2|-10|

(we know that |-a| = a)

= 1/2 × 10

= 5

Therefore area of a ABC is 5.
