1)value of 2sides=18and18

perimeter=42cm

18+18+x=42cm

36+x=42

x=42-36

x=6

area of triangle=1/2×h×b

1/2×18×18

=972sqcm

2)18+x+x=42

18+2x=42

2x=42-18

2x=24

x=24/2

x=12

area of triangle 1/2×h×b

1/2×12×12×18=1296sqcm
