Find the area of triangle whose perimeter is 180cm and two of its sides are of lengths 80cm and 18cm. Also calculate the altitude of the triangle corresponding to the shortest side.

Given:

  P = 180cm

  a = 80 cm

  b = 18 cm

∴ c = 180 - 98

     = 82 cm

S = P/2 = 90 cm

S-a = 10 cm

S-b = 72 cm

S-c = 8 cm

∴ Area of the triangle =\sqrt{S * S-a * S-b *S-c}

                                    =  \sqrt{90*10*72*8}

                                     = 720 sq.cm
