Here we have to find the average of the given numbers

the numbers are 2.3 ,4.5 ,0.9 ,1.7 ,and 3.4

sum of numbers = 2.3 + 4.5 + 0.9 + 1.7 + 3.4

= 12.8

total numbers = 5

To find the average we have to divide the s of the numbers by total numbers

average = sum of numbers/Total numbers

= 12.8/5

= 2.56

Hence, the average of the given numbers will be 2.56

To find: average of given numbers

Given data : 2.3, 4.5, 0.9, 1.7, 3.4

Solution :

  • Average is the arithmetic mean.
  • It is the ratio of sum of all the numbers given in data to the total number of observations.
  • Formula: Average =\frac{\text { sum of all the observations }}{\text { total of observations }}$
  • Here, sum of observations = 12.8
  • Total number of observations = 5
  • Substituting values in above formula,

       $$\begin{array}{r}\text { Average }=\frac{12.8}{5} \\=2.56\end{array}$$

Hence , average of given data is 2.56 .
