We know that ,
Sum of first ' n ' natural numbers = n(n+1)/2 ---( 1 )
Average = sum of the observations / number of observations
Average of first n natural numbers = [n(n+1)/2]/n
= ( n + 1 ) / 2 --( 2 )
Here , according to the problem ,
n = 91 ,
Put n = 91 in equation ( 2 ),
Average of first 91 natural numbers = ( 91 + 1 ) / 2
= 92 / 2
= 46
