LET THE BASE OF TRIANGLE BE X CM. WE HAVE,

AREA=12 CM^2 EQUAL SIDE = 5 CM

SINCE, AREA OF TRIANGLE= 1/2 * B*H

PUTTING THE KNOWN VALUES WE GET,

12=1/2*5*B

=> B= 12*2*1/5

=>B=4.8

HENCE, THE BASE IS 4.8 CM.
