Given:

A parallelogram with length(l) and breadth (b)

Length is increased by 10

i.e, L= 1.1 l

Breadth is increased by 20

i.e, B = 1.2 b

To Find: Percentage increase in Area

Solution:

Step 1: Area of original parallelogram=l×b

Step 2: Area of new parallelogram=1.1l×1.2b

Step 3: Percentage increase

=> [ { (1.1l×1.2b) - (l×b) } ÷ (l×b) ] ×100

=> 0.32×100

=> 32

Hence, There is 32℅ increase in area
