For the conical vessel,

h= 8cm
l= 10cm

We know that l²=h² + r²
∴10² = 8² + r²
∴100 - 64 = r²
∴r² = 36
∴r= 6 cm

Volume of conical vessel = 1/3 π r² h
                                         = 1/3 * 22/7 * 6² * 8
                                         = 1/3 * 22/7 * 36 * 8
                                         = 22/7 * 12 * 8
                                         = 2112/7
                                         = 301.71 cm³

Volume                     Capacity
1000 cm³                      1 litre
301.71 cm³                   (?) litres

                                 = 301.71/1000
                                 =0.30171 litres

Thus, the conical vessel can hold upto approximately 0.3 litres of water

given
h = 8 cm
l = 10 cm
l²-h² = r²
r² = 10² - 8²
r² = 100 - 64
r² = 36
r = 6 cm
volume of conical vessel = 1/3 π r² h
                                          = 1/3 × 22/7 × 6 × 6 × 8
                                          = 301.7142 cm³
