Given:

Number of blue balls = 5

Number of red balls = 7

To find:

The probability of drawing 2 blue balls in succession

Calculation:

Total no of balls  in bag = 5+7 = 12

Probability of drawing a blue ball from the bag containing 7 blue balls and 5 red balls is

Probability = No of blue balls / Total no of balls

                        = 7/12

As the ball is not replaced, the no of blue balls in the bag will be 6. The probability of drawing blue ball will be

Probability = No of blue balls / Total no of balls

                        = 6 / 11

Probability of getting two blue balls in succession = (7/12)×(6/11)

                                                                                   =  7/22

The probability of drawing 2 blue balls in succession is 7/22
