The circumference of a circle whose diameter is 8.6 cm is 27.03 cm

Given :

The diameter of a circle is 8.6 cm

To find :

The circumference of the circle

Formula :

For a circle of radius r unit the circumference of the circle = 2πr unit

Solution :

Step 1 of 2 :

Find radius of the circle

Here it is given that the diameter of a circle is 8.6 cm

The radius of the circle

= r

= 8.6/2 cm

= 4.3 cm

Step 2 of 2 :

Find circumference of the circle

The circumference of the circle

= 2πr cm

\displaystyle \sf{ = 2 \times  \frac{22}{7}  \times 4.3 \:  \: cm  }

\displaystyle \sf{ = 27.02857 \:  \: cm  }

\displaystyle \sf{  \approx \: 27.03 \:  \: cm }
