The  coefficient of variation of 18,20,15,12,25 is as given below.

Given,

18, 20, 15, 12, 25

we need to arrange the data in ascending order.

12, 15, 18, 20, 25

Mean is given by,

\bar {x} = \dfrac{12+15+18+20+25}{5} = 18

Table:

x          d = x-18         d²

12            -6               36

15             -3               9

18              0               0

20             2                4

25             7                49

∑ d = 0

∑ d² = 98

n = 5

\sigma = \sqrt {\dfrac{\sum d^2}{n}}

\sigma = \sqrt {\dfrac{98}{5}} = 4.428

The coefficient of variation is given by,

v = \dfrac{\sigma}{\bar{x}} \times 100

v = \dfrac{4.428}{18} \times 100=24.6

Therefore, the coefficient of variation is 24.6
