We know that common difference = Second term - First term .

Common difference = 3-b/3b - 1/b

= 3-b-3/3b

= -b/3b

= -1/3 .

Therefore, The common difference is -1/3

Given AP,
 \frac{1}{b}, \frac{3-b}{3b}

a_{1} = \frac{1}{b}

a_{2} = \frac{3-b}{3b}

Common difference,d = a_{2} - a_{1}

=  \frac{3-b}{3b} - \frac{1}{b}

=  \frac{3-b}{3b} - \frac{3}{3b}

=  \frac{3-b-3}{3b}

=  \frac{-b}{3b}

d =  \frac{-1}{3}

Hope it helps
