It is ironical that as mankind has been progressing over the ages, most so in the twentieth and in the first decade and more of the twenty first century, certain human actions have caused disasters which has put our life in peril.

Nuclear energy is being harnessed at a fast pace, but the disasters of Chernobyl, Fukushima Daiichi and Three Mile Island have caused a lot of concern and distress.

Global warming is causing a lot of concern too as the flora and fauna is being affected at a fast pace. With more and more automobiles being added everyday and as we burn larger volumes of fossil fuel, the weather pattern is being affected across the world.

As terror strikes are being carried out all over the earth, scientists and political leaders are worried about the possibility of biological and chemical attacks if specimens from the work of pioneering scientists are stolen from laboratories. An example would be if the now eradicated small pox viruses are stolen.
