To find :

  • coordinates of midpoint of the segment joining the point (22,20)and (0,16)

Formula used :

 \sf \: coordinates \:  of  \: midpoint  \: of  \: the \:  segment \:  joining  \: the  \: point \:  (x_1,y_1) \: and \:  (x_2,y_2) :</p><p></p><p>

 \large \bf  ( \dfrac{x_1 +x_2}{2} , \dfrac{y_1  + y_2}{2} )

Solution :

We have to find coordinates of midpoint of the segment joining the point (22,20)and (0,16).

 \implies\sf  ( \dfrac{x_1 +x_2}{2} , \dfrac{y_1  + y_2}{2} )

Put :-

  • x1 = 22
  • x2= 0
  • y1= 20
  • y2=16

\implies\sf  ( \dfrac{22 +0}{2} , \dfrac{20 + 16}{2} )

\implies\sf  ( \dfrac{22}{2} , \dfrac{36}{2} )

\implies\sf  ( 11,18)

Answer :

coordinates of midpoint of the segment joining the point (22,20)and (0,16) = (11,18)
