what is Section Formula?

The co-ordinates of a point which divides the line segment joined by two distinct points (x1,y1) and (x2,y2) in the ratio m:n are :-

x = mx2 + nx1 / m+n

y = my2 + ny1 / m+n

note:- taking ratio m:n is not compulsory you can take any variable of your choice or a variable given in a particular math problem.
