EXPLANATION.

Co-ordinate of the points where the graph : x + 2y = 6.

As we know that,

Put the value of x = 0 in the equation, we get.

⇒ (0) + 2y = 6.

⇒ 2y = 6.

⇒ y = 3.

Their Co-ordinates = (0,3).

Put the value of y = 0 in the equation, we get.

⇒ x + 2(0) = 6.

⇒ x = 6.

Their Co-ordinates = (6,0).

It intersects x-axis = (6,0).

It intersects y-axis = (0,3).

given★

  • x + 2y = 6

find

  • graph of x + 2y = 6 intersects x-axis and y-axis.

solution★

  • x + 2y = 6
  • can we be written as

  • x = 6 - 2y
  • when y=3

  • x =  6- 2(3) \\  \\ x = 6 - 6 \\  \\  = 0
  • get cordinat (0,3)

  • when y =0

  • x = 6 - 2(0) \\  \\ x = 6
  • get cordinat (6,0)

==============================

intersects x-axis= (6,0)

intersects y-axis.=(0,3)

======================================

hope it helps you
