Now,

We know that , at x-axis the y-coordinate is zero .

Thus,

Putting y = 0 in the given equation ,

We have ;

=> y = x² + x - 6

=> 0 = x² + x - 6

=> x² + x - 6 = 0

=> x² + 3x - 2x - 6 = 0

=> x(x + 3) - 2(x + 3) = 0

=> (x + 3)(x - 2) = 0

=> x = - 3 , 2

Hence ,

The graph of the given polynomial will intersects the x-axis at the points (-3,0) and (2,0) .
