Step-by-step explanation:

We know that, the coordinates of the point dividing the line segment joining the points x1,y1 and x2,y2 in the ratio m:n is given by (m1+m21m1x2+m2x1,m1+m2m1y2+m2y1)

Given (x1,y1)=(−1,7); (x2,y2)=(4,−3)

(m1,m2)=2:3

Coordinates of point of intersection of line segment is

(2+3(2)(4)+(3)(−1),2+3(2)(−3)+(3)(7))

=(5/5,15/5)

=(1,3)
