Given :

Length of rectangular park = 0.8 km

Breadth of rectangular park = 0.2 km

To Find :

Cost of fencing rectangular park at the rate of Rs. 12 per m?

Solution :

Firstly converting units of length and breadth from km to m. As we know that;

1 km = 1000 m

So length and breadth in m will be;

➻ Length in m = 0.8 × 1000

➻ Length in m = 8 × 100

➻ Length in m = 800 m

➻ Breadth in m = 0.2 × 1000

➻ Breadth in m = 2 × 100

➻ Breadth in m = 200 m

Hence, length and breadth in 'm' are 800 m and 200 m.

Now lets find perimeter of rectangular park by using formula of perimeter of rectangle, then we will able to find cost of fencing, As we know that,

Perimeter of rectangle = 2(l + b)

Where,

l denotes length of rectangle

b denotes breadth of rectangle

We have,

Length (l) = 800 m

Breadth (b) = 200 m

Putting all values in formula we get,

➻ Perimeter = 2(800 + 200)

➻ Perimeter = 2(1000)

➻ Perimeter = 2 × 1000

➻ Perimeter = 2000 m

Hence, perimeter of rectangular park is 2090 m.

Now,

➻ Cost = Rate × Perimeter

➻ Cost = 12 × 2000

➻ Cost = Rs. 24000

Hence, cost of fencing rectangular park at the rate Rs. 12 per m is Rs. 24000.

Know more,

Perimeter of any figure is calculated by sum of its all sides.

Perimeter of square = 4 × side

Area of square = (side)²

Perimeter of equilateral ∆ = 3 × side

Area of equilateral ∆ = √3/4 (side)²

Perimeter of rhombus = 4 × side

Area of rhombus = ½ × d₁ × d₂

Perimeter of circle = 2πr

Area of circle = πr²

Perimeter of rectangle = 2(l + b)

Area of rectangle = l × b
