Norton’s Theorem was independently developed by Hans Ferdinand Mayer and Edward Lawry Norton in 1926 therefore the theorem is also sometimes called as Mayer–Norton theorem. Norton’s Theorem states that: Any linear electrical network with any numbers of sources ( voltage or current) and components ; is equivalent to a current source with a resistor in parallel when viewed from the network’s output terminals.
