Mitosis produces diploid cells (46 chromosomes) whereas meiosisproduces haploid cells(23chromosomes). Mitosis produces two identical daughter cells whereasmeiosis produces four genetically different daughter cells.

Hii There!!
◆Mitosis:-
1) It is a simple division of cells, resulting in the formation of 2 daughter cells
2)Division has same no. of chromosomes as parent cell.
3)It plays a significant role in cell growth and repair and healing of wounds.
◆Meiosis:-
1)It involves successive divisions, namely meiosis
I and II, resulting in the formation of four daughter cells.
2)Meiosis I is known as reductional division where the chromosome number is reduced to half. Meiosis II is known as equational division where the sister chromatids separate while the chromosome number remains the same.
3)It brings variations, and maintains constant no. of chromosomes.
Hope it helps.
