Answer:

Length of the rectangle=5dm 4cm

=5×10+4=54

and,

Breadth of the rectangle=3dm 4cm

=3×10+4=34 [1DM=10CM]

Area of the rectangle=length×breadth

=54×34=1836cm^2

Length of one side of the square=4dm 5cm

=4×10+4=45

Area of the square=(side)^2/(a)^2

=(45)^2=2025cm^2

Therefore,

The difference between the area of the rectangle and the area of the square=2025cm^2-1836cm^2

=2025-1836=189cm^2

189cm^2 in meters =0.0189m^2

(100cm =1m, 10000cm^2=1m^2)
