Step-by-step explanation:

Let length = l

let breadth = b

perimeter = 2(l+b)

28 = 2(l+b)

l+b = 14 –––(1)

area = lb

49 = lb –——(2)

l = 49/b

Putting value of 'l' in equation (1)

49/b + b = 14

(49+b²)/b= 14

49+b²=14b

b²-14b+49 = 0

b²-7b-7b+49= 0

b(b-7) -7(b-7) = 0

(b-7) (b-7) =0

b=7

Putting value of 'b' in equation (1)

l+7= 14

l=7
