compare x²-3x+3/2 with ax²+bx+c,

so we have
a=1,

b=-3,

c=3/2,

therefore

discriminant(D)=b²-4ac,

=(-3)²-4×1×3/2,

=9-2×3,

=9-6=3

discriminant= -(-3)^2 - 4×1×3/2
