Mirages happen when the ground is very hot and the air is cool. The hot ground warms a layer of air just above the ground. When the light moves through the cold air and into the layer of hot air it is refracted (bent). A layer of very warm air near the ground refracts the light from the sky nearly into a U-shaped bend.

Basically the miraz in the deserts is formed due to A very much heathens in the environment. ..due to heat the air above the ground gets heated and starts moving upward ...due to which a layer of air is formed as rarer to denser ....thus due to this the light from the sky and nearby trees goes under refraction and enter the traveller eye ,,..and such forms a miraz,,,for the traveller....
