Hey Dear,

Complete question would be -

Find the displacement of the particle of its position vector changes from r1=2i+3j+5k to r2=4i+5j+2k. Also find the the distance travelled by the particle along X,Y,Z axes respectively. All distance are in metre.

# Given -

r1 = 2i + 3j + 5k

r2 = 4i + 5j + 2k

# Solution -

Displacement of the particle is calculated as -

s = r2 - r1

s = (4i + 5j + 2k) - (2i + 3j + 5k)

s = (4-2)i + (5-3)j + (2-5)k

s = 2i + 2j - 3k

$ Distance of the particle from different axes -

  • From X-axis, 2 m.
  • From Y-axis, 2 m.
  • From Z-axis, 3 m.

Hope this helped you.
