Given:-

  • Points are (2,3) and (6,6).

To Find:-

  • Find the distance between the points.

Concept:-

  • Let's go through the concept first. Concept used here is Distance Formula.Substitute the given values in the equation and solve it wisely.Express tha answer in units.Let's do it.

Formulae Applied:-

\Large\boxed{\bold{Distance \: Formula \:  =   \:  \sqrt{(x_2 \:  - \: x_1)^{2} \:  +  \: (y_2 \:  -  \: y_1)^{2}}}}

Solution:-

Given that,

Points are (2,3) and (6,6).

\bold{x_2 = 6,x_1 = 2}

\bold{y_2 = 6,y_1 = 3}

Distance = ??

According to the question we have!

\bold{=  \sqrt{\: (x_2 \:  - \: x_1)^{2} \:  +  \: (y_2 \:  -  \: y_1)^{2}}}

\bold{=  \:  \sqrt{(x_2 \:  - \: x_1)^{2} \:  +  \: (y_2 \:  -  \: y_1)^{2}}}

\bold{=  \:  \sqrt{(6 \:  - \: 2)^{2} \:  +  \: (6 \:  -  \: 3)^{2}}}

\bold{=  \:  \sqrt{(4)^{2} \:  +  \: (3)^{2}}}

\bold{=   \sqrt{\: 16 \:  +  \: 9}}

\bold{=  \sqrt{\:25}}

 \bold{ = 5}

Hence,

The distance between the points is 5 units.
