use formula
distance=root{(x2-x1)^2+(y2-y1)^2}
=root{(-5)^2+(-4)^2}
=root (25+16)=root(41)

Answer:

6.403

Step-by-step explanation:

Given : A(8,-2)

           B(3,-6)

To Find : Distance between A and B

Solution:

We will use Distance Formula :

d=\sqrt{(x_2-x_1)^2+(y_2-y_1)^2}

A=(x_1,y_1)=(8,-2)

B=(x_2,y_2)=(3,-6)

Substitute the values in the formula

d=\sqrt{(3-8)^2+(-6-(-2))^2}

d=\sqrt{(-5)^2+(-6+2)^2}

d=\sqrt{(-5)^2+(-4)^2}

d=6.403

Hence  the distance between the points A(8,-2) and B(3,-6) is 6.403
