SOLUTION

TO DETERMINE

The distance of the point (-3,4) from the x axis

EVALUATION

If (x, y) is a point on cartesian coordinate system

Then

Distance of (x, y)

From x axis = | y | unit

From y axis = | x | unit

Now the given point is (- 3,4)

So the required distance of the point (-3,4) from the x axis

 \sf{ =  |4| \:  \: unit }

 \sf{ =  4\:  \: unit }
