Find the domain and range of the following function :-
1. f(x) = \frac{x}{x+1} , x \geq 0

Domain = R - {-1}

Range = [ 0 ,1 )

Step-by-step explanation:

let f(x) = y = \frac{x}{x+1}

so subjecting x we would get

x = \frac{y}{1-y}

also x \geq 0

so 1 - y  \neq 0

⇒ y ≠ 1 , Also 0 ≤ y < 1

∴ Rf = [0,1)

And x ≠ -1 or it becomes undefined which should not be there for domain

∴ Domain = R - {-1}
