Find the domain of the function f (x)
x²+2x+1
x² – 8x+12​

I think you got the question wrong as it is x^2+2x+1/x^2-8x+12

THEREFORE

doing the numerator as [(x+y)^2=x^2+xy+y^2]

we have numerator=(x+1)^2

AND NOW

doing denominator by middle term splitting

we have,

x^2-6x-2x+12 =0

=x(x-2) - 6(x-2)=0

=(x-6) (x-2) =0

=> x=6 or x=2

THEREFORE

domain ={2,6}
