Find the equation of a line whose y-intercept is – 3 and which is perpendicular to the line joining the points (0, – 5) and (– 1, 3).

equation line is perpendicular to

3x+5y-8=0 is 5x-3y+d=0

Ang its intercept on x- axis at (-3,0)

5(-3)-3(0)+d=0

d=15

hence required equation is 5x-3y+15=0
