Given point is (-4,2).

We know that slope of a horizontal line is 0.

Here, we have to find a horizontal line, So only y-value is relevant.

Therefore, the equation of line will be y = 2.

(or)

Given points is (-4,2)

We know that point-slope form is : y - y₁ = m(x - x₁).

We know that for horizontal line, slope is 0 i.e m = 0

⇒ y - 2 = m(x + 4)

⇒ y - 2 = 0(x + 4)

⇒ y - 2 = 0

⇒ y = 2.

Therefore, the equation of the line will be y = 2.

Hope it helps!

say2chandra15p4pj5d: can you please elaborate How "y-value" is only relevant?
siddhartharao77: But u ain't asked to elaborate it fully!.. Just remember that for Vertical line, x - value if relevant. For horizontal line, y - value is relevant.
say2chandra15p4pj5d: Yup, ik that's why I'm asking now
say2chandra15p4pj5d: alrighty then, appreciate your help man :)
say2chandra15p4pj5d: You got a Follower :-)
siddhartharao77: Let me elaborate my answer, Because ur not satisfied with my answer!
say2chandra15p4pj5d: no need :) Gotcha!
siddhartharao77: Done!...check it once again!
say2chandra15p4pj5d: man thanks again :)
