Answer:

Guven equation : x+2y=6

Slope of ax+by=c is equal to -a/b

Hence , slope of x+2y=6 = -1/2

Slope of 2 parallel lines are equal

Slope of the line = (y-y1) / (x-x1)

Slope of another parallel line passing through (4,-6) = (y-(-6))/(x-4)

-1/2 = (y+6)/x-4)

By cross multiplication :

2y+12 = 4-x

x+2y+8 =0

Hence the equation of line parallel to the line x+2y=6 ,passing through point (4,-6) is x+2y+8=0

Hope the answer helps you thank you
