  • It is given that the diagonal of rectangle is 25 cm and also one side of the rectangle is given to be 7 cm.
  • We have to find the other side of the rectangle.

        Let the other side be 'x'

We know that the relation between diagonal and sides of rectangle is

Diagonal = \sqrt{length^{2}  + breadth^{2} }

Putting the values in the formula

25 = \sqrt{7^{2} +x^{2}  }

625 = 7² + x²

625-49 =  x²

576 =  x²

x= 24

The other side of the rectangle will be 24 cm.

Given that:- Diagonal of a rectangle is 25cm.

and one of its sides is 7cm.

To find:- The other side

Assume the other side be 'x',

We know, the formula for diagonal

Diagonal = \sqrt{(length)^{2} *(breadth)^{2} }

As, we have diagonal is 25 cm,

Length is 7 cm and breadth is x

By putting the values in the formula,

25=\sqrt{(7)^{2}+(x)^{2}  }

By giving square root on both sides,

625=7^{2} +x^{2}

625-49=x^{2}

576=x^{2}

x=24

The other side for the rectangle is 24 cm.
