Answer:

given,

two points A(-1,-3) and B(5,1)

A(-1,-3) - x¹ = -1 y¹ = -3

B(5,1) - x² = 5 y² = 1

We know equation of a line passing through two point,

y - y¹ ={ (y²-y¹)/(x²-x¹) } (x - x¹)

y - (-3) = {1-(-3)}/{5-(-1)} {x-(-1)}

y + 3 = 4/6 (x + 1)

y + 3 = 2/3 (x + 1)

3(y+3) = 2(x+1)

3y + 9 = 2x + 2

2x - 3y - 7 = 0

This is the required equation.
