Thanks for your question...

Your required answer :

Point A )

  • ( 1 , 7 )
  • Therefore x = 1 and y = 7

  • 7x - y = 0 is the equation let's check :

Put value of x and y :

  • 7 ( 1 ) - ( 7 ) = 0
  • 7 - 7 = 0
  • 0 = 0

That means our equation is correct

Point B )

  • ( -3 , - 1 )
  • Therefore x = -3 and y = -1

  • x - 3y = 0 is the equation let's check :

Put value of x and y :

  • ( -3 ) - 3( -1 ) = 0
  • -3 + 3 = 0
  • 0 = 0

That means our equation is correct

 x_{1}, y_{1} \:  \: and \:  x_{2}, y_{2}

m =  \frac{ y_{2} -  \:  y_{1} }{ x_{2} -  x_{1} }

A \: (1,7) \:  and  \:  \: B(-3,-1)

 =  \frac{ - 1 - 7}{ - 3 - 1}

 =  \frac{ - 8}{ - 4}

 = 2
