Step-by-step explanation:

Given Find the equation of the plane passing through the point (1,4,-2) and parallel to the plane -2x+y-3z=7 ?

  • Now we need to write the equation of the plane so it will be                               – 2x + y – 3 z + d = 0
  • So P : - 2x + y – 3z + d = 0 or P (1,  4, - 2) = 0
  • Now  it implies – 2(1) + 4 – 3(- 2)  + d = 0
  •  So we get   - 2 + 4 + 6 = - d
  •                             Or d = - 8
  • Therefore the equation will be P : - 2x + y – 3 z – 8 = 0
